À propos du livre
In 1968 I was invited to participate in Rimini Italy to a photo contest. At the time, I was living in Milan as a graphic designer for the Pirelli company. I packed my camera bag and a tripod and took an early train to my destination so I can scout the seaside resort. The organizer who had set up camp at the casino has decided to give only one roll of black and white with 36 exposures to each participant and told them photographed whatever you want in your creative mind. The idea that came to me was to photograph people in their cars waiting for the traffic lights to turn green. I tried to imagine each individual thought as they waited.
I mailed the contact sheet as the rules requested it of the contest, but I never heard them back about the final result. Some 48 years later, I found out I still had all the 36 negative frames and what a better way to make this project come back to life that to find a very creative writer who can write down the imaginary thoughts of all those people in their cars at the traffic light.
