À propos du livre
With wisdom and insight, 38 former CUSO Nigeria volunteers, including two who became award-winning authors, share their memories of the joys and challenges of Canadians living in Africa's most populous country. Cuso International, formerly known as CUSO and Canadian University Services Overseas, is a Canadian international development organization that connects skilled volunteers with communities around the world. Since its inception in August 1961, when 15 Canadians set out on one-year terms to India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia, Cuso has sent out more than 15,000 people to over 100 countries. By the early 1980s, the organization’s largest single program was in Nigeria. Hundreds of Canadians went to West Africa, primarily in teaching positions, during those years. These are some of their recollections.
