Tales from the Charcoal Boy Vol. I is a collection of poetry and prose written during the latter half of the 2010’s to illicit tears from its readers. It details an agonizing and brooding non-linear narrative split into four chapters. The themes explored in each chapter include: love, loss, pain, mental health, anxiety and racial motifs just to name a few. Each chapter deals with a different pain. And as aforementioned, this collection is designed to illicit tears from its readers,
but it is in this release that we find the similarities between us all that often get diminished by the media. It is in Tales from the Charcoal Boy Vol. I, that you realize you yourself, are in fact a version of the charcoal boy. His pain is inadvertently yours.
