À propos du livre
Personal Impersonal is a dark narrative poetry collection themed around the impact of technology, surveillance and censorship on contemporary Britain, told through poetic sequences of love, loneliness and alienation. Through two acts, this collection is dedicated to viewing our society through tinted lenses, as revealing snapshots of ordinary lives are seen and dissected as allegories for the issues laying deep below the surface.
The poems contained within this collection trace two years of the author's life through fateful encounters on public transport, ranting strangers, sudden storms, an unexpected viral outbreak and the ever-present pain of longing. As these experiences mount up, the personified despair of 21st Century living begins to manifest itself in heavy, breathy tones, culminating in a long night spent battling against intrusive whispers as my character within the poems struggles with his heartache and the self-destructive voices inside of him.
