À propos du livre
Over thirty years ago, Blaine Toussaint, former professional wrestler who went by the name "The Jam," was charged with the murder of his wife.
Toussaint was later found not guilty by a court of law.
However, it was what happened months after the contentious trial that haunted Blaine for the rest of his life.
One day, filmmaker Wally Copel shows up at Toussaint's house in hopes of making a documentary about Toussaint's life; however, Copel's main focus for the film is centered on the devastating events that occurred in the small town of Maven months after Toussaint's infamous murder trial. Dealing with the natural assaults of old age, Toussaint is leery about Copel's intentions and like the filmmakers who came before him, suspects Copel of wanting to use Toussaint's misfortunes for his own personal gain.
After Toussaint's overprotective daughter, Jezebel, catches her father showing old VHS tapes of The Jam to her seven year old son, Jezebel's worst fears of exposing her son to her father's violent past causes a sudden rift. Jezebel's lack of appreciation for her father's wrestling days not only inspires Toussaint to reconsider Copel's enticing offer, but also forces Toussaint to confront an old enemy.
Packed with nostalgia and lore, the first novella in Wrapped in Darkness is a throwback to Eighties-horror with a "new-meets-old" attitude.
