À propos du livre
Founded in 1862 when gold was found in the surrounding mountains and the nearby Grasshopper Creek, Bannack served as the first capital of Montana Territory. With a gang of road agents allegedly responsible for over a hundred murders in the gold fields and surrounding highways, and a Vigilance Committee dealing out vigilante justice, the colorful history of Bannack embodies the Wild West romanticized in films. Today, it's preserved as a State Park and National Historic Landmark, where the remains of this once-bustling town serve as stark reminders of the contradictory—yet connected—facts of our own impermanence, and our lasting effect on the land.

À propos du créateur
Anna Zlotnicki
Missoula, MT
I'm an artist currently based in Missoula, Montana. Born and raised in South Carolina, I've escaped the sticky southern heat for the great white north and all its rocky mountain grandeur. I love this land and all that it offers us, and hope that my landscape works show the raw beauty of the wild places I hold dear to my heart. I'm fascinated by the human internal experience as well as our impact on this planet, and hope that my work leaves you both in awe of the world that we share, and encouraged to look within.
