Piney Wood Atlas is a collaborative project between citizen artists Alicia Toldi and Carolina Porras and was formed out of a desire to help spread the word about the magical world of artist residencies. Through a series of regional road trips, we travel across the country unearthing small, emerging and unconventional artist residencies.

This book profiles 18 alternative residencies from our fourth road trip, which took us across the Northeast. It also includes contributions from artists as well as fun stops along the way. We hope you take this book on your next adventure and mark it up, dog-ear it, and use it as a resource for future projects.
