This book is a selection of images of the variety of sun dials and clocks which can be seen in cities, towns, and villages. Among the variety of sun dials are those carrying a message on their faces, plain sun dials, and those which are elaborately decorated. Places they can be found include walls of buildings, church towers, and on top of pedestals in churchyards and gardens. Clocks can also be seen on churches, clock towers, clock houses, and erected on buildings overhanging the street. Some have been erected to commemorate past events and people, and a few are fascinating one handed clocks.
