Over the summer months of 2020 our childcare
program school location at Inspired by Wonder
conducted 19 zoom calls with a variety of
inspirational women and leaders in their fields. The
children ages three to twelve, listened attentively to
their stories, their backgrounds, how they overcame
obstacles and challenges in their lives and persisted
no matter the odds that were laid out before them.
During this time of our project, we were celebrating
our Province’s 150th Anniversary, and we were
inspired to learn about local women who are making
incredible inspiring differences in our own backyards!
Some of these women are innovative entrepreneurs
who had to pivot their businesses during this stressful
global pandemic. Others are women who have broken
boundaries exceeding world records and bringing
home a gold medal for Canada in Women’s Hockey.
Other women are breaking barriers and thriving in
male dominated professions, and others are living life
to its fullest while living with terminal illnesses. Their
stories offer hope, inspiration and encouragement
for others.
