Those who watched the recent Tokyo Olympic Games must have known by now that Japanese summer is brutally hot and extremely humid. Yet summer is still my favorite season of the year - I love taking pictures under the scorching sun. After walking for a few hours sweating and observing the vibrant colors of city streets, country lanes or ocean paths, taking a break at an air-conditioned cafe is like arriving at the gates of heaven - soft serve never tastes this good.
