Join Tom and Laurie as they venture out for their first post-vaccination trip to Portugal and France. Our plan was to spend three days in Lisbon, before boarding the Amadouro for a one week cruise along the Douro River from Porto to the Spanish border and back. This cruise was to be a litmus test of cruising - not on an ocean cruise with 5,000 passengers, but a more manageable river cruise with 102 fellow travelers (and maybe even less).

Afterwards, we planned a one-week return to Bordeaux, which we had last visited (and thoroughly enjoyed) 3½years ago. Worst case would be a general swearing off of any and all types of cruising (with the possible exception of barging along French canals). Best case would be serious consideration of another river cruise.
