This year’s calendar is a continuation of the one produced in 2019, which chronicled 12 historic crossings, all found in Maryland. This calendar samples a variety of crossings found in Maryland, Delaware, and West Virginia, some of which are literally, “off the beaten path.”

Included in this group is the oldest railroad viaduct still in service today, one of the oldest ferry crossings in the United States, bridges just for hikers, a bridge which carries both a railroad line and a famous hiking trail across the Potomac River, and one of the only privately owned bridges in the region, which in spite of its looks has survived flooding, major storms and the threat of demolition to continue serve as a major crossing for locals of two states.
