For me, the Preakness is more than a horse race. Held annually two weeks after the Kentucky Derby, and three weeks before the Belmont Stakes, it is Baltimore's day of celebration. And it is in Baltimore, where I spent the first 5 years of my life. In a sense going to the Preakness is like going home. (Our residence in Pikesville, located at 7001 Concord Rd is less than 3 miles from Pimlico Race Course). And while I didn't drive to Pikesville during my 3 days in Baltimore, I drove along the streets (Druid Park Drive, Garrison Boulevard, Greenspring Avenue, and Reisterstown Road) whose names are somehow still familiar to me.
