À propos du livre
This turn-of-the-century portrait documents the survival of Native American culture in the area east of the Mississippi River. Photographer Carolyn DeMeritt, working with writer Frye Gaillard, traveled from the Everglades to northern Maine as the 20th century drew to a close, putting a human face on the Native American story. For the past decade, these photographs have traveled to venues throughout the eastern United States.
