À propos du livre
IDFK HOW TO DESIGN is (not only a hilarious coffee table book for designers + great gift but) an eclectic approach academic resource textbook and guided sketchbook for students studying graphic design and digital arts, focusing on the principles and elements and utilizing them consciously. This will allow students to produce not only effective designs but rewarding work. The guided sketchbook explores techniques for you to follow along, even some adult coloring book style pages, dotted sketchbook pages, grid sketchbook pages, lined notebook pages, blank sketchbook pages, and gradient sketchbook pages.
This book is meant to be a visceral experience for the viewer as they absorb the content and concepts. Unique grids and copy layouts have been created to inspire. Custom digital illustration and composite work utilizes a multitude of different combinations of principles/elements in a visually dynamic manner throughout the book.
A note from the Author:
There are things, events and places that we are exposed to as artists that are cathartic with how we function and perform as artists.
I’m aiming to be the vehicle for one of those experiences for you through deployment of my artwork, layout, and conversational writing style. My ultimate goal is that engaged active learning is taking place, in the most radical way possible ...
Here’s a random thought that may help understand this book: I wish someone would have handed me an art-textbook version of the movie “Across the Universe” when I was in undergraduate school studying fine arts and design … know what I mean Jelly Bean? Certain things resonate and shape us. Oh yeah, I’m a hoot, maybe hoot and a half. I indulged in talk-to-texting copy for this book, but you’ll like it … I mean, you’re still reading so you’re pretty invested, you are currently 245 words into this description, so … When you get to the pink castle at the end of the book shoot me an email and tell me what you thought.
