In these paintings I derive inspiration from the iconic work of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, among other artists of the Post War period. The work is both a commentary on and a contemporary interpretation of artists who believed that color, shape and form had the power not only to act on the soul, but to heal the body, and move the heart. “Syncopations” is a re-examination of these early ideas employing the rhythm of color harmonies, and the poetry of line in paintings that aim to evoke the wit, elegance and energy of a musical performance.
