À propos du livre
Evil Dud is a comic about a nuclear family of exceptional narcissists, slackers and misanthropes struggling to amuse themselves in the mid-burbs. It's full of good plans for bad reasons, bad plans for any reason, great hair for no reason, slightly off-center social ranting, guns, violence, and random drinking. Also, there are monsters all over the place.
The stories in Evil Dud take place as the world adapts to the reality of everyday horrors. Man-bats, Lizard Men, Dog-boys, and animating smoke all add to the headaches of life spent dealing with neighbours, school, marriage, and the ever-present threat of having to parent sober.
Stretching across these stories are bigger questions that need answers:
- What is the real story behind ZOMFU, and why doesn't anyone want anyone else to know it?
- Did all these monsters really "just happen?"
- What does Chas Sirron have to do with all of this?
- What does Dad ACTUALLY do for a living, and WHY IS HIS HAIR ALWAYS PERFECT?
Nico creates the graphics for Evil Dud in an unusual way. Every panel is directed and photographed live, and then the source images are individually treated for graphic effect. It's a labour-intensive process that incorporates film and painting techniques into a unique visual style.
