Fresh off their five-day Jordanian Journey, Laurie and Tom explore Egypt, including four nights in Cairo and a one-week cruise down the Nile on the AmaDahlia. We will visit the ancient cities of Memphis, Sakkara and Thebes; take in the Pyramids (where I will, of course, ride a camel); the Sphinx; the vibrantly decorated tombs in the Valleys of the Kings and Queens; the temples of Horus, Hatshepsut, Philae, Kom-Ombo, Karnak, Luxor and Hathor; and delve into the engineering feat that saved the Great Temple of Abu Simbel from rising waters once the Aswan dam was constructed.
