“Chickings” Peddler
The author writes and paints stories --of his struggle to overcome poverty, ignorance, and lack of motivation to find fulfillment and happiness. His work follows his families' path from colonial time to the space age. Short stories, and oil paintings are his specialty. One most interesting story is of the rich "Queen of the Okefenokee" who at the age of sixty-five married, the love of her life, a boy of twenty-one. She called him, “Doll Baby.” He shot and killed a man, and the Judge said, "To the chain gang you shall go". For the price of a bull, a Georgia Governor let him go -- but that's not the end of the story!
The author's sixty-year search for his family roots are recorded in this book too.
