A quiet piece, Yankee Enduro is ethnographic in concept while at once avoiding the human figure, favoring an emotional approach to the dirty work of cross-country commerce. At times, the exhibit directly addresses the industry’s environmental impact while at others, subtly alludes to the heartbreaking toll that it takes on the humans involved. Far from damning however, shades of beauty and liberation are woven throughout. Just like life on the road before technocracy finally devours the rich pageant that is American trucking, Yankee Enduro exists to be experienced in its paradoxical totality.
