We Did Not Love Like Men is the first poetry collection by new author Tessa Wheeler. The collection follows the author's personal growth through her poetry over the span of one and a half years, and includes reflections on form, her relationship with her work, and how her understanding of art has changed over time. The collection contains a variety of work ranging from character poems about Shakespeare's Othello, to poetry inspired by summers spent in Acadia, to love letters to Joan of Arc, and to honest confessional poems enveloped in a fear of growing up. We Did Not Love Like Men is a record of an author's journey out of adolescent insecurity and into newfound confidence with herself and her work.
