This book showcases the works of several photographers who participated in two workshops taught by George Nobechi (Nobechi Creative™) in the summer of 2023.

Photographs are presented according to concepts related to space -- Komorebi, Koh-itten, Shakkei and En-kin-ho -- and to emotions -- Natsukashisa, Setsunasa, Mono-no-aware and the ubiquitous Wabi Sabi. Japanese words and their meanings became new beacons, guiding sensibility and photographic practice.

The breadth of images produced is a testimony to the freedom each felt during the classes.

Ottawa, Canada

Chantal Fortier is a photographer living in Ottawa, Canada. Her work tends to reflect a certain quietness. Seeking humanity above all, her photographs are as much portraits and scenes of life as landscapes, ranging from color to black and white, depending on the subject and the moment. After a career in museums and in government working on cultural and heritage issues, she turned her attention to photography. A workshop in Santa Fe in 2015 signaled the beginning of a radical change and a regular, thoughtful practice. Since then, several classes with renowned photographers and talented fellows have been great inspirations. She has been exhibited three times in two American galleries and retained in online exhibitions in Ottawa. @chfortier
