À propos du livre
As a nurse, I got to see patients struggle with medical wigs. This led me to the study of wig making in 2011. Since then, I've been teaching clients advanced techniques on how to wear and care for their wigs. With this knowledge, they have been able to better enjoy alternative hair and extend the life of their wigs significantly. Now I'm bringing together this knowledge into one book. Here are just some of the things that I'd like to teach you.
· Handling fine lace without causing damage
· Making your lace wig look more realistic and less detectable
· Adding security to your wig with and without adhesives
· Caring for and restoring both human and synthetic hair
· Gentle methods for cleaning
· Preventing shedding
· Avoiding "wash-through," the phenomenon of hair passing to the inside of the wig
· Plucking, tightening, and sealing knots
· Many simple DIY repairs
· Options for a custom wig
· Making your own head mold and hairline template
· What to ask and look for before you buy
Whether you are new to wigs or a pro, this book will be an in-depth study on alternative hair. My ultimate goal here is to make your life with a wig a great one.

À propos du créateur
Jason Archer has been crafting and sewing since childhood. While working in the field of nursing, he became curious about the construction of lace wigs for medical alopecia patients. He originally studied under Marquetta Breslin in 2011. Later he received more training with John Yim. His background in nursing science and costume design prepared him well for the art of wig making. In addition to private clients, Jason has consulted for major wig brands. He has also appeared as a guest instructor for Lace Wig University. Jason is particularly known for his natural looking hairlines, embellished wig caps, and innovative maintenance techniques. Jason lives in the mountains near Asheville, North Carolina. When he isn’t working in the hospital, he is in his studio testing some new wig idea while trying to keep his cats off his worktable.
