À propos du livre
Faces of Antwerp - is an extremely valuable account of a city in metamorphosis. It zooms in on local people living in a changing world, in which ingredients such as demographic shifts, the noticeable effects of climate change, the ripples caused by global conflicts, increasing inequality, the often polarising and seditious discourse relentlessly fuelled by new media, the belief in continuous scientific progress, and the tensions between traditional religions and a secularised society result in a challenging yet fascinating cocktail. The culmination of three years of work, the book is presented as a trilogy. In the first part, Philippe presents black-and-white portraits of Antwerp residents from diverse occupational groups and equally diverse cultural heritages and social classes; in the second part, he depicts life in an assisted-living centre; and in the final series, the photographer turns his lens to focus on the city’s youth. In short: Philippe uses the backdrop a fraught, unpredictable, and changing world to produce a portrait of the local community. Or more precisely: 113 different portraits

Photography is a new chapter in my life after having lived 35+ years as a global sales executive in ICT (and some nuclear engineering long, long, time ago). I like to work on projects which give me new challenges and connect me with interesting people & places.
