À propos du livre
Amy was born in NYC and raised in the suburbs of Detroit. Her father, Martin Kallman, was a painter and classical pianist. Amy grew up in a purple house, surrounded by intellectuals, art, poetry, classical music, dance and trips into Nature. As an adult and tired of NYC living, Amy moved to Santa Fe in 1986.
A survivor of breast cancer, Amy has sought new pathways into the light. Supported and inspired by her Jungian analyst, Monika Wikman, Amy has taken her soul work into the healing process of painting and writing.
Amy Sayers' art is inspired by dreams, angels, feminism, poetry, and archetypal imagery. Her work reflects the divine light within the dark mystery of the soul and is a combination of techniques: Collage, acrylics, Venetian plaster mixed with pure pigment, and collaged with found objects. Pan pastels and/or oil pastels are added, photographs, drawings, and text.
Amy says, “Ideas occur in early dawn, in the time between waking and dreaming or looking up at the sky, walking into the arroyo behind my house, or reading fiction. My aim is to produce designs that are layered with symbolism and live in a striking form which moves and inspires the viewer.”
