À propos du livre
Istanbul trip in the fall of 2009 was wonderful. Sultanahmet, the old part of the city, felt mysterious with layers of history to be discovered in every corner. Modern transport systems, clean roads, fresh fruits, vegetables and bountiful fish were all impressive. Each one of the many beautiful mosques stood out with its own distinct architecture, fountains, mosaics and carpet designs. Food was delicious and baklava simply heavenly. People wore traditional and modern attire. The hike on Heybeliada Island felt like a fairy tale with two white ponies appearing out of nowhere. The Hippodrome area was fascinating at night: the Byzantine column, the Obelisks, the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sofia glowing against the dark night invites one back in time. Images here are an attempt to give a glimpse of the visual experiences of this trip.
