The photos in this book were from my recent trip to Gansu and Qinghai provinces in China.
Xiahe is in the southern part of Gansu province, and is a largely Tibetan town built around Labrang Monastery - one of the major Gelugpa (yellow hat) buddhist monasteries.
One day in June, I joined the pilgrims on the 3km kora (pilgrim circuit), spun all of the nearly 1800 prayer wheels, and photographed the people and prayer wheels along the way.
