À propos du livre
This is the true story of a life lived behind the television cameras. John Mead worked his way up from BFN radio and acting in weekly rep to announcing for Granada before eventually becoming one the most respected television producers and directors in Wales, working for HTV and its predecessor TWW.
In this memoir of his life in broadcasting, John takes us from the highs - like filming Prince Charles as he tours Wales by helicopter around the time of his Investiture as Prince of Wales - and the lows - like being threatened by one of boxing's nastier managers and being forced to scarper from an expensive club when the money runs out. In between, we learn that making TV programmes look easy isn't easy at all... but it's often hysterically funny to try.
