À propos du livre
Drawn in Light is a visual documentation of artist Jo Berry's ‘Hijacking Natural Systems’, an arts and science project devised in collaboration with Dr Nick Holliday and Tim Self of the School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Nottingham Medical School.
The project, funded by The Wellcome Trust and Arts Council England, involved Jo working in the University laboratories a day a week for six months on a research project which resulted in a published academic poster. The imagery produced during the research project then formed the basis of a new body of work for exhibition including digital drawings, animations and laser cut illuminated artworks.
Photographer and filmmaker Andrew Robinson was commissioned to creatively document the development of the project and the resulting artworks.
In this book Andrew brings together a range of visual material from the project including original scientific imagery; Jo’s drawings, animation stills and illuminated artworks; and his own photography and film work, some of which has been specially produced for this publication.
(This is the updated version of the book including images from the exhibition)
