More than two years ago, we had a dream of going to Alaska and experiencing the "last frontier" for ourselves. We had been to Maine (which was our most magical trip to date) and the desert southwest a number of times. We had not yet ventured to the “great white north,” perhaps because bad timing and significant expense kept getting in the way. It was always something that we would do “some day.” Well, we finally decided that there would always be some reason to put it off and "some day" might never get here. However, if we simply jumped in and made plans, it would be “some day” and this trip would actually happen.



So, on August 26 of 2007, after two years of planning, reading Alaska travel and guide books, talking to folks who had already been, and generally building our excitement level, we embarked on a trip to the last frontier. It would prove to be the beginning of the most significant trip of our lives... It seemed as though the trip would be unforgettable, not just because of the experience, but because of the changes it brought to our lives afterwards as well.
