À propos du livre
As the famed Ise Shrine undergoes a complete renewal of all its wooden structures every twenty years, villagers collect donations to build a huge wooden cart and transport huge tree trunks which will be used to re-build the Shrine. In the Okihiki, these tree trunks are pulled out of the river loaded onto a huge wooden cart and pulled by the villagers to a pond of the Ise Shrine where the wood is seasoned for a few years before being used for the rebuilding of the Shrine.
