À propos du livre
SICK OF THE SIGHT is an exploration into the captivatingly mundane and banal landscape viewed by photographer Lisa Wilton on her daily 30 mile round trip to work. A trip she has made for five years. Her work highlights the boredom and restraint people feel living the repetitive 9 to 5 lifestyle at a time when Britain is in the grip of a recession, were redundancy and unemployment are at an all time high.
The photographs act as a wake up call, forcing the viewer to confront their lives, their own happiness and ultimately coerce them into making life altering changes.
As a photographer Wilton is on a never ending quest to discover beauty in the banal, something this series of images asks the viewer to recognise. It challenges the viewer to understand how the ordinary can be extraordinary and how a person's life is dictated by how they perceive it.
