À propos du livre
Memoirs of a Doctor's son, from his years as a boy growing up in Colonial Nigeria from 1947-1952.
The family were posted to four Stations in Nigeria, which were the cities/areas of Benin, Makurdi, Kano and Sokoto. In addition they toured Sapoba, the Sapele district and Jos, whilst on 'Leave'.
Patrick also has memories of some confusion and anxiety, when he was sent to various relatives in England, because of the birth of his two brothers.
Each of these places left memories in young Patrick, some clear and evocative, others ghostly and softened by time, but overall, the African experience created an 'inner landscape which has been fixed in his mind' ever since.
