À propos du livre
Due to the size and abandonment of decaying landscapes, new questions are being asked about the future state of their sites. The decaying industrial landscapes have strong direct heritage to the city, which stretch into their adjacent regions. The importance of the social, economical, political, and cultural conditions from the past of the cities are defined and valued through their manufacturing productions such as sugar, gas, grain, energy and various other productions. Many have been and unfortunately are still lying inactive. These factories and their decaying complexion describe powerful lessons of industry that once were so dominant. The once flourishing landscapes, located in urban centers provide incremental possibilities for contemporary activation; including the evaluation though innovative methods of manipulating physical horizontal topography, embedded structures, and ‘leftover’ anatomy. The following chapters are the contribution and investigations of such inquires.
