À propos du livre
In the northern spring of 2007 we booked an apartment for 2 weeks in Sarlat la Caneda, a beautiful restored ancient walled town of 10,000 people, located in the south west of France some 6 hours drive south of Paris and 3 hours east of Bordeaux.
The town is on the national register for listing as a UNESCO world heritage site. The town is very popular with visitors and has one of the most popular markets in the region. This market appeared beneath the window of our apartment on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
From our base in Sarlat we made regular excursions into the surrounding region of Perigord Noir. The area is rich in prehistoric sites, the most notable being the caves at Lascaux, as well as having an abundance of medieval castles.
This book is primarily a photographic record of our two weeks supported by words based on Kay's diary that she kept throughout the trip
