À propos du livre
On 24th June 2008 I embarked on a journey that would take me and my band The Pinker Tones from coast to coast across North America. We covered 25.000 km in 52 days, playing 43 gigs in as many different cities, as a featured band of The Vans Warped Tour, the longest touring festival in the world. 6 stages, 60 bands and 1.200 people working every day and driving every night to make it happen.
We travelled all over the country, and got to see all kinds of landscapes: from Colorado’s Grand Canyon to Miami’s beaches, from the desert of Mojave to the mountains of Sierra Nevada...
I, however, was fascinated by something else, something that was in front of the stages daily, and between the merch and the food stalls: the crowd. All those anonymous spectators came to the festival day after day, a total of more than 500.000 people; under a scorching sun, or heavy rain, often driving hundreds of kilometres, and even during a tornado alert, just to see their favorite band play!
I’m very lucky to be a member of one of those bands and with this book I wanted to pay homage to the American crowd. Without the presence of every single one of them, that long trip, the festival and live music would not exist.
