À propos du créateur
Juan Carlos Diaz was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico in 1964, to Cuban parents. He sketches, always people, since he learned how to hold a pencil. At 17, he went to Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn, New York, where he graduated in 1986 with a BFA in Communication Design. Shortly he started working in the promotion department at Seventeen Magazine, where he made his first sketches to be used as lay outs for photo shoots. Until 1992, the immersion of his graphic and illustration worlds in the fashion and beauty industries, served as the foundation for his calligraphy, which is the idiom that he draws in. Upon his brief return to his native Caribbean, he became an art director for both advertising and television, only to continue in 1995 to Los Angeles, California, where he is been sketching internationally for the best photographers, directors, designers and art directors. He currently teaches at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.
