À propos du livre
...reflects about about the approbriation of a transient home through the garden, the 2-dimensional quality of the immaculate white bed sheets in 3-dimensional space of the back garden. White linen also has a long tradition in photography as a background for staging and is symbollically charged especially in European art history.
The project is photographed with the most domestic camera in the artist's possession: a 4x5" Linhoff & equipment which is too heavy and bulky for her to carry around, thus confining her to a limited operating range: the house. While asking questions about a sense of belonging the female artist unexpectedly finds herself technically trapped at the traditonally associated space for women. From the kitchen door she regularly is taking photographs of the sheets which are marking her presence.
The artist has used all the bed sheets - and thus has insribed herself into the fabric she is looking at through the apparatus.
