À propos du livre
The Augustinian Priory of St Stephen at Launceston was the richest ecclesiastical community in medeaval Cornwall and this Book outlines how it developed from a Celtic Christian and attracted patronage from Anglo-Saxon and Norman landowners. It held lands across North Cornwall and its buildings were on a grand scale. After Henry VIII's dissolution it was forgotten and lost until a chance discovery by Victorian engineers bring the railway to the town, led to its re-discovery. The Book contains a number of colour illustrations which show how this important site looked in the past and today.
