À propos du livre
The key to this research was an investigation into new and existing images of vehicles with their Fgst Nr (chassis number) visible, I have managed to gather over 40 such example, 12 of which are documented photographically in the book. These are relating to a chart built around info found about contracts given to the specific factories. Within the book there is total of 139 photos covering the period from early 1942 through to mid 1943, as usual the majority of them are previously unpublished. I have split the update into the following four periods: early F2(G) where the differences are harder to spot mid G where they become quite distinct late G where other distinguishing feature are added (including diagram showing schurzen variations) and very early H.
There are 9 diagrams, three tables and multiple thumbnails introducing specific details in each of the chapters. The book concludes with a modelling section in which three Dragon mid production G smart kits are shown built in three different versions from a similar time period. This is illustrated with 11 photos and shows how to accurately produce one vehicle from each factory.
Overall I am extremely pleased with the new perspective this information gives a familiar old friend.
À propos du créateur
This series of books (PzKpfwIV at the front: from 8wheels-good Publishing) is an exploration of the development of the PzIV, the only tank to be in uninterrupted mass production for front line service from the first to the last day of WWII. They are made up entirely from images of my own original photographs that I have collected over the last 10 years. The small profit made on each book will be put back into enlarging and preserving the collection so more titles can be added and images shared. Each volume contains fully captioned images, tables where appropriate and details from the reverse of the photographs. The tables are a collection of dates from all the main references available, existing museum vehicles and photographs which can be dated. They are born from my own frustration of endless trips to the books case to cross reference different sources and the wish to create a one stop reminder. I hope that they will be appealing to historians, wargamers and modelers alike.
