David Sassoon

David Sassoon is an environmental journalist and the founder and publisher of Inside Climate News. He lived in Kathmandu from 1980 to 1984, where he worked as a documentary photographer. He also located, preserved, restored, and printed old negatives of Nepal and Tibet from the first half of the 20th century, and documented their contents. He returned to Nepal in 2008 for the first time in 25 years, and went on an expedition to the ancient, walled Buddhist capital of Lomanthang in Mustang. He lives in Brooklyn Heights and Harlemville, New York with his wife, Stephanie, who is an artist and a teacher.
