Experiencing the Tokyo subway, particularly during rush hour, is an exercise in contradictions: there is light and darkness, movement and stasis, rushing and waiting, arrival and departure, solitude and the masses, entering and exiting – all at the same time, creating an atmosphere that combines reality with the surreal. This book explores the Tokyo subway in gritty black and white images taken on film with a rangefinder.



This book has been months in the making, and I am so pleased to have it in publishable form at long last.

Currently living in Virginia, USA, (formerly in Bern, Switzerland and in Bordeaux, France), I continue to work on several healthy cooking photography and writing projects.
