À propos du livre
As a young boy growing up in Northeast Harbor, John Rivers experienced every day what is truly special about Mount Desert Island - a place where earth, sky and water connect. As a photographer, there can be no place else that provides such an endless source of subjects in so many changing moods and seasons, and so many special places to call you back again.
This book focuses on the broader landscape of the island and the ebb and flow of activity from the busy summer seasons to the quiet of winter that makes life on the island so unique. It celebrates those connections between the earth, sky and water where the magic truly happens.
I hope you will enjoy this collection of photographs that explore the many connections of Mount Desert Island.

Northeast Harbor ME USA
I am an architect who grew up on Mount Desert Island in Maine. I have had a long term interest in photography that has grown in recent years. I thoroughly enjoy everything from landscape and nature photography to family portraits to architectural photography. Mount Desert Island, where I now live year around with my wife Carol and daughter Ann, offers a nearly endless palette of photographic opportunities, all while letting us enjoy one of the most beautiful places on earth.
