À propos du livre
Martin Thomen (born 1774-died 1856), wrote a journal dating from 1835.
Copies of the journal pages in his handwriting were found in Harold O. Thomen's genealogical files.
The first six pages of the journal were translated sometime in the early 1900's for Orange Ordell Thomen.
The remaining pages have not been translated and remain in the original German.
There appear to be recipes for home remedies
such as horse liniment, headache medicine, and how to make inexpensive paint,
along with some pages devoted to thoughts on religion.
It is unknown as to the whereabouts of the original work.
The copies, including the translation of the first six pages, are provided herewith in an effort to preserve this precious heritage.
