John and Klare, through a fundraising auction, became the winners of an October vacation in Costa Rica. Unbeknownst to them and most, that time happens to be the peak of the rainy season. Most coastal properties are unoccupied due to flooded roads, mud slides, broken power lines and overall unlivable conditions. Stores and restaurants are mostly closed for business too.
