There is a “cherry fairy”!

Cheery-cherry, naughty, wild

Reaching out with hands and eyes

To steal and tease, beguile.



There is a forest nymph

A tannic, secret child

Crowned in white and dancing

Can dance the trees a smile.



There is a dogged maiden:

Petter of rugged pelts

Who knows a hearty tickle

Doth princess’ hands define.



There is a little swimmer

Gone teasing in the stream

Idly splashing giants

Done chased her out in screams!



There is a lit’ red lady

I’ve seen upon the shore:

Tiny freckles and bright long looks

Warm my heart to the core.
