Merging the physical/spiritual practice of yoga with the visual/spiritual art of photography resulted in what I believe are truly soul-filled images that now represent an emerging and a continuous body of work. A practice in itself.



I found that in the process of capturing yoga practitioners in their practice reflected back to me what I seek in my own life: being more meditative, contemplative and finding more in less.



The essence of the book is that yoga is not about perfection, but being alive and focused in the practice. This book is not a manual, rather an attempt to intimately capture the beauty and subtlety of the human form in yogic practice, which embodies strength, agility, grace, meditation, beauty, form and serenity. It was my intent to capture the asanas or postures, the transitions between asanas, or the bodies at rest. I shot this series anonymously in order to surrender the "ego". All participants are yoga instructors or committed practitioners.

NAMASTE is the composite of two Sanskrit words, one translation: The light within me honors the light within you.
