À propos du livre
“Where’s Dad?”
“He’s in the shed.”
Throughout my father’s life, the shed behind our home in rural Wisconsin was one of his favorite places. The shed was a shelter from the harsh weather and a storage area for farm machinery and tools. More than just a physical space, it was also a psychological refuge, a place for deep thought. While it stored the physical requirements for farm work, over the years it came to hold the psychic manifestations of a man who valued his religious and family heritage.
I hope you are inspired by the photographs taken by my husband, John. While depicting a specific space, they call upon us to recognize the evidence of our humanity present in all of our living spaces.
