À propos du livre
Katherine Green’s 'Last Days at the Dogs' documents the final months of Walthamstow Stadium, London.
The book accompanies an exhibition at Vestry House Museum, London which is open until 29 November 2009.
Walthamstow Stadium opened in 1933 and closed on 16 August 2008. It was the best known and most loved of all the UK’s greyhound stadiums and was renowned internationally amongst both racing fans and tourists keen for a taste of traditional British life.
Green spent three months at the track documenting the architecture and décor of the building, as well as the staff and public who worked at and visited the track at all times of day and night. The resulting series of photographs evoke a real sense of community, continuity
and tradition.
