À propos du livre
Once again, more than a million visitors were thrilled to see spectacular aerial acrobatics, precision flying, and unbelievable jet-speed performances just overhead and offshore with near-perfect weather at this year’s Huntington Beach Great Pacific Airshow.
The Air Force Thunderbirds, flying Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcons, again performed mind bending precision and choreographed sequences as they rolled and passed in tight formation above Surf City. The United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force Aerobatic team, the Red Arrows and the Canadian Forces Snowbirds performed equally stunning aerial performances.
Other performances included Lucas Oil pilot Mike Wiskus, the Special Operations Command parachute team, a FedEx fly-by, dueling jetpack riders and demonstrations from the Air Force F-35 Lightning II and A-10C Thunderbolt II, known for it’s unique role in close air support for ground troops. Jeff Boerboon appeared in his Yak 110, a one-of-a-kind aircraft made of two fuselages, two propellers, and one jet engine.
Lyon Air Museum’s C-47 Dakota, the “Willa Dean”, flying since 1941, made some lovely pass-overs as she offered the crowd a thrill with the unique rumble of her engines.
The excitement and thrills were enjoyed by all on the beach, out on off-shore boats, and in the nearby area.
We’re looking forward to next year (and will bring earplugs!).
